New Deliveries of BOYGA Ammunition-Drop UAV to the Turkish Armed Forces

STM has successfully delivered new units of the BOYGA ammunition-drop UAV to the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF), further strengthening its role in Türkiye’s defense capabilities.

As one of Türkiye’s leading defence companies, STM continues to support the Turkish Armed Forces with its combat-proven tactical mini UAV systems. During the Weekly Press Briefing held by the Ministry of National Defense on February 13, it was stated: “Efforts to enhance the capabilities of the TAF with indigenous defence industry products continue. In this context, the inspection and acceptance processes of a significant number of BOYGA Rotary-Wing UAVs by the Turkish Land Forces Command have been completed.”

BOYGA, developed by STM and introduced into the Turkish Armed Forces inventory in 2022, has been actively deployed in counter-terrorism, cross-border operations, and international exercises. Recently, BOYGA demonstrated its effectiveness during EFES-2024 and Winter Exercise 2025, striking designated targets with pinpoint accuracy. Gaining attention from international markets, BOYGA secured its first export deal in 2024 with a country in Africa.

With BOYGA in the Sky, No Rest for the Enemy

BOYGA, the newest member of STM’s tactical mini UAV product family, is able to deploy its customised 81 mm mortar ammunition with full accuracy thanks to its advanced ballistic estimation algorithm. BOYGA can be used effectively in counter-terrorism and asymmetric warfare settings, and has a 30-minute airtime while laden with mortar ammunition. The BOYGA platform can reach altitudes of 3,000 meters (MSL) and has a mission range from 6.5 km to 10 km, while its 17 kg weight allows it to be transported by a single operator. The integration of the ammunition system has been carried out in collaboration with MKE.
